New Year's Resolutions....Yeah Right!

I have heard a lot of people who have stated that making New Year's Resolutions are a waste of time because they never last. Well, I choose to disagree in a positive way. I think resolutions attempt to make you accountable to yourself and why wouldn't we want to improve areas in our life?

One area that I set resolutions for was SPIRITUAL. There is always room for improvement in this area of one's life. I thought I would share my list in hope of encouraging EVERYONE to take your spiritual life to another level. Maybe by the end of the year, we all can say that we have grown a lot closer to our Lord.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Set aside time to read God's word.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Make time for prayer.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Write down prayer requests and pray over them during the week.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Retreat to my “war room” and get down to business.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Give more of my time, talent and money....yes I said money to the upbuilding of the kingdom of God.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Be aware of the needs of others.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Make getting involved in church a priority.

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Live like you are loved by God.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~ Romans 8:35-39

• [endif]Act like you are free.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. ~Galatians 5:1

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Walk like you are righteous.

StartFragmentFor he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:21EndFragment

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Thrive like you are chosen.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; ~ 1 Peter 2:9

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Step forward in confidence.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

~ 1 Corinthians 15:57

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Endure like you are brave and strong.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

~ Joshua 1:9

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Rest like your power source is God.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Function like you are purposefully designed.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. ~ Psalms 139:14

[if !supportLists]• [endif]Believe like you belong to God who makes all things possible.

StartFragmentBut Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. ~ Matthew 19:26EndFragment

This is just a small portion of the goals that I have set for myself and this is not even counting what I am working on as far as the church, Sunday School, Women's Ministry, Choir, Campmeeting, Sunday evening service....etc. So lets jump in and make 2019 a year of New beginnings, new adventures and new spiritual growth for ourselves and our church.
